The 16:9 ratio is the standard ratio of your computer monitor and flat screen tv. It is the most common screen ratio for video and movies. It is considered a wider ratio. Size Illustration for 2:1 ratio.
Photography and fine arts professionals offer larger and less common sized art that often require custom frames. The 2:1 ratio is just as it sounds, twice as wide as it is tall. Think of it as two equal sided squares, joined together, doubling in width, while height remains the same.
